It seems that Volkswagen has developed the world's most fuel efficient car. A car that uses 1 liter of fuel per hundred miles. That's 285 MPG to those of us in the US! That's the good news. The bad news is that they debuted the car in April 2002! The technology clearly exists to reduce fuel costs 75 - 90% while we listen to the automakers argue with the EPA about having to increase their vehicles another mile per gallon over a period of years. The story about the car (pictures are included) is dated. It's from the June 5, 2002 issue of Canadian Driver. CanadianDriver |
